I don't need to clean my room today, I'd rather plant a tree
From November 2024, guests of Botanique Hotel Prague can choose to skip cleaning their room during their stay and help nature instead.
Simply hang a sign on the door handle and we will donate the money saved to plant new trees. This seemingly small choice has a surprisingly concrete result - roughly every three unsolicited cleanings means one newly planted tree.
In the first six months, thousands of guests have joined the program. In total, we've seen more than 3,100 uncleaned rooms, representing approximately 10% of all guests. As a result, we were able to plant our first 1,050 young trees in the spring of 2025 as part of the teambuilding program. The planting took place in locations where the new trees help with biodiversity restoration and water retention in the landscape. At the end of the year, we plan to donate further funds to organisations such as the Plant a Life project, which are expertly dedicated to planting and caring for trees across the Czech Republic for the long term.
